Hi, your requirement seems related to generic web application. The code that works on a simple web page (outside Pega) should work within the Pega application also. My two cents!

Unfortunately, this is not supported by most of the browsers since scripts have very limited access to local machines. I have found a few references. Please check if it works out.

There used to be some browser plugins/extensions where you could right click and open in an IE instance. But I believe many fell out of favor over the years. What is nice about those extensions is that it would work generically on any web links, and required no modifications.

This isn't a Pega limitation but more broadly related to web applications. We had the same requirement with our client and found a solution that works for us:

Basically what the above article describes is how you can add a new Windows registry setting to the machines of your users. This registry setting defines a new protocol handler. Essentially, if you name it something like "iehttp", then whenever your machine sees a link clicked that starts with "iehttp://" instead of "http://", then it launches IE to open the link instead of the current browser. I am not sure if this can be done for non-Windows machines.
