What is the difference between Designer Studio (Home Edition) Vs. PRPC?

Designer Studio gives development team members the tools and information they need to build and extend enterprise applications. It is available to users who specify Developer as one of the portals associated with their access group.

My applogies for asking the basic questions. I am going through the Academy material and understing it.
The basic question that i have is -
1) is Designer Studio (Home Edition)/Designer Studio (Enterprise Edition) is nothing but Pega 7.1 version and anything prior versions like (6.x) were called PegaRules Process Commander (PRPC)?
2) OR both are two different tools and for different purposes?

You are correct Designer Studio and PRPC are the same thing, I believe you are just getting confused with the names.Designer Studio is the functionality that allows developers to develop applications. PRPC is the name for the core product.
