Change in rulesets in "Communications Foundation Framework" & "Order Management framework" Upgrade
Hi,
We are planning to update our application from Pega 7.1.8 to 7.3.1 and currently we are using CFF 7.17 and OMF 7.11. Application is having minimal usage of frameworks. We have the following queries in that regards:
1) Now the CFF framework is renamed as Pega Foundation for Communications but with new ruleset names. starting version 7.1.8. Would that need a complete rebuild on the framework part. Do we have any specific impacts noted so far?
2) Also for Order Management framework, Pega Fulfillment Control Center for Communications is the new name after Order Management version 7.13. So when moving to Pega 7.3.x, should we adopt Pega Fulfillment Control Center for Communications? As ruleset names have changed, what would be the extent of impact?
3)Also since usage is minimal, can these frameworks continue to work with backward compatibility after being repointed to Pega 7.3.1 pre-requisites without having to import the new replacing framework.
Please let know your thoughts as we are assessing which would be the effective way considering cost and timeline.

Hi All,
Can anybody throw some light on the best practice to be followed/past experience while upgrading frameworks like OMF, CFF, Product Catalogue framework etc. to the latest versions, or any other frameworks which have changed in the new version of Pega like ruleset name change, class structure or Data Model changes etc.

Hi Arpita,
There is no direct upgrade path from 7.18 to 7.3.1 (that is tested). You need to do sequential upgrades from 7.1.8 to 7.1.9 to 7.2.1 to 7.3.1 by following respective release upgrade guides. The upgrade guides have all the details.
