Upgrade Pega Foundation for Financial Services

Hi,

I will upgrade Pega Foundation for Financial Services from 7.14  to 8.4. A direct upgrade from release 7.14 is not supported, because of that first i will upgrade to 7.21 then 7.21.1 and then 8.4. We need 3 sequential upgrade.

Do I need to  upgrade sequentially for Pega Platform. Can I upgrade pega platform to 8.4 then upgrade Pega Foundation for Financial Services sequentially.
