Federated Case Management upgrade
Hi - We are using FCM (Federated Case Management) along with the entire stack of CRM+ FSIF on Pega 7.2.
We wanted to upgrade our entire stack to Pega 8.6.4.
1. So any documentation/approach we need to follow for FCM ?
2. Do we need to rebuilt it or it will work as it post upgrade?

@KiranU8720 Federated Case Management and its features that you could configure from Dev Studio, such as remote case types and corresponding gadgets, are deprecated. Creating a remote case type on a case type rule form no longer has any effect on your case types. To continue sharing work between applications, switch to App Studio, and then start authoring remote case types in a low-code and user-friendly way.
Starting with Pega Platform™ version 8.6, Federated Case Management and its features, such as remote case types that you configure in Dev Studio, is deprecated. To continue sharing work between applications, switch to App Studio and create low-code and user-friendly remote case types. For more information, see Remote case types.
Remote case types that you migrate from the previous versions of Pega Platform that you configured in Dev Studio continue to work without any additional configuration.

@MarijeSchillern Thanks Marije. Quick question - what I understood from above is that, the existing configurations and case types work as is and no additional effort is required on FCM when we migrate from Pega 7 to Pega 8 ?
Is my understanding correct or do we need any re-configurations/re-built ?
And FCM comes OOTB with Pega platform 8.6.4 correct ?

FCM supports 2 configurations to create remote cases. 1) Using Gateway 2) Using Mashup
Any remote cases using gateway to connect to the remote machine might not work as gaterway war is not supported for Pega Platform™ version 8 and above. If the remote cases are using Mashup, then the old approach of displaying remote cases using Mashup should work without any additional configurations.

@NishanthReddyGajjela Hi Nishanth , our flow looks like this . So any rework needs to be done after we upgrade to Pega 8 from Pega 7 please ?

@KiranU8720 Hi Kiran, it looks like you are using the PRGateway to connect to the remote systems. This approach would not work in Pega 8 and above. Therefore you will have to make some changes as part of your application.
Could you let us know what in usecases FCM is being used?
1) To create cases and process them on the remote system
2) FCM is being used as a repository to retrieve work from all the federated systems. Users can pick work applicable
3) Both for remote case creation and for worklist?
