Change application server from Websphere to Tomcat
I would like to study the possibility of downsizing my Pega7's application server from websphere application server 8.5 to apache tomcat 8.5 . I have some questions in my mind:
1. Does Pega7 formally support running tomcat in production environment?
2. If I move to tomcat, can Pega7 still provide same functionalities (such as session replication, async task and message bean) as Websphere application server?
3. Any documentation/guideline for moving Pega7 from Websphere to Tomcat?

Hi,
Pega doesn't support TomEE(https://collaborate.pega.com/question/pega-72-apache-tomee-or-apache-tomcat-server), it only supports the Tomcat editions mentioned in support guide and the same is used by Pega Cloud too.

Hi,
I didn't understand what you mean by officially support?
Anything that is mentioned in support guide are tested environment and products on which pega platform works correctly.
As I told all Pega cloud customer are using tomcat so I think it is supported, also you can see support guide for confirmation

Yes, I have read the platform support guide.
The problem is that in “Product Support Community“ someone mentioned Pega cloud is running “Tomcat Enterprise Edition”, but in “Platform support guide” it said it only support “WAR” mode in Tomcat. So my question is whether “TomEE” is officially supported by Pega or NOT
Officially support by Pega means:

Pega will provide documentation on how to install Pega in TomEE

When I issue a “SR” to Pega support team, Pega support team will NOT said “TomEE” is NOT a supported platform.
