I have a case getting created through API and I assign the case through addowkrobjectparty - the case is getting routed to the correct user and also has a record appropriately in Assign-Worklist BUT the case is not visible in the home portal of Worklist assignment section
I have not modified any records - pls could someone help me understand the reason?

I will be revisiting the source that is configured on the section rule to showcase the work list items. To get a better understanding, run the source as a standalone and confirm that the results are getting generated.
On an another note, configure a report definition on Assign-worklist and confirm that item is being fetched without any hassle from the class instances
This approach will aid to identify the root cause of the issue
