In order to answer your questions, you should perform some performance tests if possible. That is the only way we will know the answers. That being said, if you can elaborate details regarding your latency, we may be able to provide some suggestions. For example, is the latency across the all use cases of the system if the number of tenants exceeded 300? If not, what specific use cases acting slow? What about cpu usage, database side?

Thanks for your response Kevin. Perhaps I wasn't clear in my initial post - I'm not concernced about performance (right now), so latency isn't a factor. I'm more concerned with how many tenants an MT server can theoretically handle. Is there a limit? If I have 7 GB of RAM available per node (and I have 2 nodes) does that mean that since each tenant requires x MB of RAM I can only have y tenants? Or does PRPC use swapping so that this isn't a factor? Or is there some other algorithm that's used to limit the number of possible tenants? Or is there no limit?

Spoke with Kevin on IM - he set up an MT server and created 500 tenants with no problems. Obviously the answer is not "unlimited" but the actual limit remains to be seen. Right now I have 617 on one of my 7.2 servers and am not experiencing any issues as I did on 7.1.6.

Do you mind explaining the business case behind 617 applications on the same server ? Is it the same application with 617 customizations of it, or several applications completely distincts hosted on same environment ? And why multi-tenant over just several applications rules on a standard environment or even several instances (got my idea for this one, would be difficult to handle 617 environments I guess...)
