Can I use both Public:Shared and Public:Standard categories as a destination for copying my private reports to?
In Pega 7.1.7, when I check the "Allow rule check out" box on my 'Business' operator, I am allowed to copy my Private reports to the Public:Standard (visible to all) categories, but *not* the Public:Shared (restricted to my Access Group) categories. Reversely, if this box is unchecked then I can copy reports to the Public:Shared categories but not the Public:Standard categories. Are the two supposed to be mutually exclusive because, with the box ticked, I would like to be able to copy reports into the Standard or Shared categories?

When the Report Browser was redesigned for 7.1 GA, the Standard & Shared categories were merged. At the time, out PO decided, that when publishing to the new "public" category, we would under the covers do the foloowing:
1 - If you are setup as a developer (operator has allow checkout) you publish to Standard categories
2 - Other wise you publish to Shared categories
There is some conversation going on within our team about expanding/changing this model, but nothing concrete yet.

in general, below are the 3 ways in restricting the report access from report browser, when a report is associated to category.
- Standard category report is seen by everyone
- Personal category report is seen only by its creator
- Shared category report is seen by its creator & all operators who shares the same Access Group as the report creator

I have a Business operator (access group AnApplication:Managers). When I tick the box on their operator record saying "Allow rule check out" and log back into the Case Manager portal, I cannot Copy reports into the Shared category any more. Why is that?
Subtext is: I think it may be a bug in the data page used to populate the copy-to list when you have the checkbox ticked. I think it should include both the Standard and the Shared categories. However, I am just checking because this might be a 'feature' :-)

Thanks for your candid response Emilio. Personally, I think there is a place for Standard and Shared categories to both be made available to senior business operators because they represent two different 'usage scopes', both of which are valid for businesses and managers thereof. However, I think associating that functionality with the "Allow rule checkout" flag is a bit nebulous.
So, I'll jot that down as a 'feature' and see whether future releases bring this functionality back with a new, and improved, model.
