Agile studio/Deployment manager compatibility Matrix

Hello,

We are now on Pega 7.4 with the following setup :

  • Deployment Manager/AES/Agile Studio server
  • Dev
  • Integration
  • Staging
  • Production

We are planning upgrade to 8.2 and would like see what would be the best upgrade path.

We are thinking of upgrading Deployment Manager/AES/Agile Studio server then migrate all environment one by one.

Do you know if Agile studio 8.2 is able to interact with 7.4 platform (Dev/Integration/Staging/Production) ?

Same question for Deployment manager 4.4 is it possible to interact with 7.4 platform ?

To answer Agile Studio part, Agile Studio 8.2 requires Pega Platform 8.2.1. 

Please check below Pega Agile Studio 8.2 installation Guide and Upgrade Guide:

So, you need to first upgrade Pega platform from 7.4 to 8.2.1 and then upgrade the frameworks.

Hello Susan,

We are aware that Agile studio require 8.2.1 to be imported successfully, as we plan to go to Pega 8.2 we are reviewing application installed and also how they interact with the previous platform.

We are more interested in the compatibility between Agile Studio 8.2 and a distant Pega Platform 7.4 that would interact with it using the workbench.

  • Does a 7.4 platform is able to communicate with a 8.2 Agile studio over workbench 
  • Does a 8.2 platform is able to communicate with a 7.3 Agile studio installed on a 7.4 platform.
  • Does a 3.4 deployment manager (installed on 7.4) can interact with 8.2 platform.
  • Does a 4.4 deployment manager ( installed on 8.2) can interact with 7.4 platform.

The goal is to know which server needs to be upgraded first.

Hi,

As you upgrade the platform to 8.2.1 and Agile Studio to 8.2, in any order, you might have to disconnect and re-integrate in order to interact over Agile workbench.

 And as mentioned by Susan, Agile Studio 8.2 requires  8.2.1 Pega platform.

Hello Swaraj,

 

It means there is no backward compatibility with previous version ?

I can't upgrade Deployment manager to 4.4 without upgrading all my system to 8.1 or above ?

Hi Loic,

Yes you need to upgrade 8.1 or above in order to use Deployment Manage 4.4

You can find supported Pega versions for each release of Deployment Manager @https://community.pega.com/marketplace/applications/deployment-manager
