Adding a application as child case type under existing application.
We have a application XYZ, which was initially built on pega 5, later upgraded to 7.3 and now to 8.7 cloud.
we are rewriting another application ABC into Pega, which needs to be added as a child case under the exiting XYZ application as child case.
Note that the XYZ application doesn't have a case type and was designed with flows and local flow actions to move forward in stages and status.
Would like to know if this is a recommended approach and what would be the impact on maintanance with XYZ.
If it's recommended to proceed with this process, how do we connect both application in parent-child relationship without a case type in XYZ.

@SwathiMadireddiCouldnt get the scenario completely. Could you provide details like - since XYZ doesn't have any case type defined, what will be the parent case for case type defined in ABC ?

That's the question i have too.
Right now the work class is inheritied from Work- for XYZ Application.
Do we need to create the casetype for XYZ and modify the inheritance to create the parent-child relationship for the new app ABC.
ABC is a legacy application which we are going to rewrite to Pega.
We will already have cases in XYZ which are active, which needs to have a cases from ABC to be Plugged in as child to the existing case based on the one main property which is unique and common between these two WOs

We have framework application XYZ with no case types defined but have other logic which can be reused.
Then we have implementation application ABC which needs to act as child class for parent class in XYZ.
If this mapping is correct, then you can define ABC application on top of XYZ application and class in ABC with direct inheritance of class in XYZ.
