Activity vs datapage and report defintion

Hi Team,

I have an activity which was created in pega 6.2 and now we have upgrded to pega 7.4.

This Activity just contains obj-browse and few property set and due to compliance we are planning to replace with datapage (Thread level reload per intercation) sourced with datapage, so my question do we really get any benefits in terms of performance as we are replacing one rule with two rules and datapage will reload eveytime?

How pega engine code works so that one activity can takes more time than multiple rules?

Hello, 

Performance is one aspect but I think the more important ones are reusability and maintainability. It isn't a good idea to keep the intelligence of your processing in just one big activity.

Agree we should avoid writing an activity with huge steps because that will be very hard to read and maintain and enchance and that can be achieved with multiple wrapper activity or data transform.My Question was we have a simple obj-browse plus  2 more property set and we are forced to convert in Datapage and RD so what benefits we will get?
