About PEGA ROBOTIC AUTOMATION Hotfix
Pega Robotic Automation will crash when I install KB 4056894 Microsoft Security Rollup on Windows 7 64-bit systems. Currently mycustomer is using 8.0.1037.0. My question is that KB 4056894 is related to AMD processors. Do I need to install build 8.0.1080 even though customer only use Intel processor machine? If yes, can we have some Hotfix for 8.0.1037 because if we changed the version there is a possibility some of our Robotic Project would cause build error and we also need to test all Robotic Project again. It would cause a lot of schedule delay.

The only systems affected are Windows 7, 64 Bit that specifically have KB 4056894 installed.
- If you have a 64-bit Windows 7 machine WITH KB 4056894 installed, you must use the Product Support website and submit a Media Request SR for 8.0.1080.
- If you have a 64-Bit Windows 7 machine WITHOUT KB 4056894, then you must either NOT install the KB, or make it a point to install 8.0.1080 alongside the KB.
- If you have a machine that is NOT 64-Bit Windows 7, or does not have Pega Robotic Automation installed, you may disregard this upgrade in this context.

Is there any article in Pega regarding this issue? Our company uses Windows 7 64-Bit currently and have not faced or the issue been reported so far.
Can you please share the details so that we could be proactive, before these KBs are installed? There seem to be no intimation to customers regarding this potential issue.

There was an alert sent to our customer base on 2/2/20108 regarding this matter. It reads:
"Microsoft’s January Security Rollup contains a change (KB 4056894) that can cause Pega Robotic Automation to crash when you install this Microsoft Security Rollup on Windows 7 64-bit systems.
We have researched the issue and have developed a solution which will be included in build 8.0.1080. This build will be available for customer download on Monday, February 5, 2018. Please install build 8.0.1080 to avoid this issue.
To download build 8.0.1080, go to the Product Support website and submit a service request. Be sure to select Media Request in the Request Type field. For more information, see Opening a Service Request.
Note: Should you need help today contact Product Support."

Ok. I'm one of the Pega Support Contact Administrator for my organization. However, I do not seem to have received the email.
Whom should I contact if I need to get this alert and include my email ID in future communications?

Hi @MuruganH,
I'm not sure why you didn't receive this email. Since you are one of the Support Contact Administrators, could you check to see if you are also set as a Security Contact? If you're not set up as the Security Contact and you should be receiving security updates, please update yourself to have that role.
Here is a link to our Support Contact Administrator Guide for more information.
Thanks!

Hi Marissa,
Yes, I'm already set as Administrator, Security Contact and Product Support. However, I had not received the alert. BTW, the link you had mentioned does not seem to work and says 'Content not found'. Please assist.
Thanks

Thanks for reaching back out. We are showing that we did send this message to you. I'm going to see if we received any type of bounce back message. If you could also check your spam/junk folder in the meantime that would be helpful.
Thanks!

To see what changes have been made for various builds you can search for Build Notes in the Search box above. Here is a link. For this fix the description is:
This hotfix resolves a problem that arose if you had installed Microsoft Windows Update KB 4056894.
This problem caused 64-bit processes that had the HookChildProcess option set to True to crash when a child process was launched.

Due to the Microsoft’s Security patch (KB4056894) installed in HVD's Pega Robotic Automation is causing issues and we are upgrading Pega Robotic Automation from 1016 to 1080. Please advise if there is any special steps to be followed for the upgrade.
Thanks,
Binod

There are no special steps. If you are going from 1016, you will receive the new script component. As this has been revamped significantly. You may get build errors if any references are missing. The build errors should point you to any changes required. Otherwise, you just need to open your solution in the new version and it will be upgraded.
As always with any change, you should fully test your solution after the upgrade to ensure everything is working as desired.
