Automating SAP with Pega Robotics

In order to automate a process in a SAP system with Pega Robotics, I'd ask:
1 - Is it necessary to set up anything directly on SAP?
2 - Is it necessary to install anything in the SAP server side?
3 - Is there any limitation on “interrogating” or “automating” a SAP system?
