Our application going to migrate from Pega v7.1.x to Pega Infinity 24.x. It is a platform upgrade as well as Data Base Migration from DB 2 SQL MI.

It is a back end app, front end application is different tech stacks and running 24/7. Hence no downtime or maintenance window so far. 

I was going through the Pegas recommendation on Data migration approach, here Pega mentioned that downtime required for both the source and target production environment. - https://docs.pega.com/bundle/migration-modernization/page/pega-cloud-migration-modernization/stage-two-production-environment-migration-go-live.html.

Question - What if we won't bring down the target application server, what are the consequence we will face? what exactly will happen? We understood that there might be some data integrity issue may occur. But what are those main OOTB table may impact during this kind of risky data migration approach?

Have you tried this kind of approach? I would like to hear from your experience?
