Is it necessary to uninstall and reinstall Pega Mobile if we rebuild it?
Of course! If one is rebuilding a mobile application, one is normally not required to uninstall an existing mobile application oneself.
A few things to consider
1. Rebuilding the Mobile Application:
When we make some changes in your Pega application—additions of features, fixing some bugs, or enhancements in the user experience—you may have to rebuild the mobile application just to accommodate those changes.
Question : Do we need to reinstall or install pega mobile application?
2. Rebuilding means creating for the changed application configuration a new version of the mobile application. Updating the Mobile Application Once the mobile application has been rebuilt, you will need to deliver the updated version of it to your end users.
3. The updated application may be delivered to the end-user via different channels: application stores, like the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, or via enterprise distribution mechanisms. The way the application is updated depends on the way it was originally deployed.
4. App Stores: If your app is distributed through app stores, these will update automatically if the end-user has configured their settings to auto-update for your app.
4. Enterprise Distribution: In-house enterprise applications, for example, distributed using MDM solutions, will need you to control the update and distribution process.
5. Considerations on Authentication Sometimes, after an upgrade or rebuild, users face problems with app download due to some pre-set authentication. For example, if you have set login requirements for app downloads, then users will be prompted to log in before they are allowed to download the newer app. These can be modified in the Admin Studio under "Mobile" → "Settings."
