how to retain whitespace in beginning and end of string while giving as user input in pega?

Indentation or any other formatting options are not supported in the text area control in Pega.
The Rich Text Editor(RTE) control can be used in case of any formatting needs to be done.
If you enable the 'Indentation' option in the general tab of the RTE property (as given in the below image), the indentation option will be available in the RTE.
