Change Event is not working when we input data in text field
Hi , I have a requirement where I have to show warning on the screen when user is trying to input wrong details which is not present in the DB table . So to achieve this requirement i have written data transform which will get the valid data from the DB table using a data page and the i'm setting a flag to check whether the input filled is correct , if correct setting the flag to false and if incorrect i'm setting the flag to true .
Now i'm calling this data transform from the section where I have a text input field . So in that the event is change and action is refresh section and calling the data transform in that .
And to show the warning added one section inside that i have a warning label and a visibility condition like when flag is set to true show warning .
After adding this logic when i input wrong data in the text field it will show me the warning only when i click somewhere on the screen . But i want to show warning while inputting some wrong data . How can we achieve this?

Hi @Sagarika18,
Please run the data transform first using run data transform action and then add refresh this section action and try. If this doesn't work, if you are using expression as visibility condition and run visibility condition on client is enabled on warning field then no need to refresh the section as well just run the DT and check

I tried both the approach as you suggested but the same thing is happening . the warning will come only when user loose the focus from the field . So i have to click anywhere on the screen to get the warning .

@Sagarika18That is the behaviour of the Change event, it only triggers when clicking away.
Also from a user experience perspective, it would not be a good idea to have the screen refreshing like this as the user types because it will interrupt their input, and unpredictable refreshes can be very annoying.
If the data is present in a data table already, why can't you use a picker control to allow the user to see the valid inputs? Autocomplete/anypicker controls would be recommended for this if you can define a data source for them.

Dropdown would be recommended approach for this (only if we have limited number of results). Even if you go with Auto complete, instead of selecting from the source list, user can enter custom text, to restrict this again we have to include a JS file in the harness and add validation class on the control.

Dropdown cannot be used its a huge set of data and and the data which user is entering is sensitive data . And Yes auto complete also cannot be used .
