Maximum number of records and columns in Pega Reports
Do we have a specific number of maximum records or maximum number of columns that we can have in a Pega Report?
Is there any recommended amount suggested by Pega itself for the maximum number of records or columns we should have, in order to not affect the performance of the system?

Maximum number of rows by default is 10k. However this can be changed.
Increasing this value may cause performance issues in loading.
And max number of columns in a RD, we dont have any restrictions here. However more number of columns might cause performance issues.

@AshishS9517 - You don't have limitation as such however when you run the RD the data gets loaded in the clipboard. Basically it consumes the memory of the server.
For example if you load 1k records for per user session and you have 500 users in your system using same functionality in parallel, you will end up having 1k*500 records in server memory. There is a possibility that your system may run out of memory.
Optimize the memory by accessing the clipboard size of your work object to avoid performance issues. Yet it would be better to load minimum needed data.

Is there a maximum number of rows you have found to not impact performance? Looking to increase the 10k to roughly 50k but concerned about performance issues.

@ScottR15 There is many parameters to be checked before increasing the record count.
1. Database/Table Performance - Like create index, Partition and others
2. Environment Performance - Check the heap memory if we retrieve more records, its take more heap size and the system will go down. To be revisited the default configuration and increase based on the requirement.

@ScottR15 - You are most likely to see performance issues if multiple users fetch 50K records in their session on same server. Even 10K is very high. As memory consumption will increase, you may run out of memory.
If you are working on reports, I would advise to explore BIX. Else run your query from script outside Pega so that records are saved on the server form where script is executed.
