Not able to Edit Maximum Records Retrieved in Report Definition

Hi - We have a Summary Report that fetches more than 500 records.

We cannot edit the Max Number of Records in the report. It is disabled in the Data Access Tab.

I tried to set it by saving the System Setting : Pega-RulesEngine • pyMaxRecords to our ruleset and editing it.

The ID of the system setting is : Pega-RulesEngine • pyMaxRecords ; Name shows as : reportdefinition/exportmaxrecords . (attached screen shot)

This also did not take effect. If I access the Reporting Settings using the Designer Studio --> Reporting --> Setting --> Setting - it shows as disabled.

Can you help me on how to increase the records fetched while processing the report.

Hi Smitha, 

Which Pega version you are using? What method used to retrieve the data from DB? the query executing?

"We cannot edit the Max Number of Records in the report. It is disabled in the Data Access Tab." - can you attach a sceenshot?

Hi SmithaR1,

Since it is disabled in the Data Access Tab in your report, increasing "pyMaxRecords" will not fix it.

Why did you disable it? Are you using Paging?

Hi Susan, I do not remember we disabling it . Paging is not enabled too since this is a summary report. 

Are there any other reasons why it could be disabled? In this case how do we change the max records?

Hi laxman,

Individual Report definition -  Data Access tab of the RD has the input parameter "Maximum number of rows to retrieve" where you can specify the max number, this option will be enabled when the "Enable Paging" option from the "Report Viewer" tab should be disabled.

we can also edit the max number of records by updating the pymaxrecords system settings (save this rule in your application specific ruleset) this setting will be applied to all Report definitions in your application.
