Report Definition Maximum Records

Hi,

I have a requirement where I need to get some data from table with report definition. 

Report definition may return more than 30 k records.

After getting data from RD I have to open the Case and update some values with Property-Set 

Do obj-save .

Commit.

 

Is it recommended to get such huge amount of data using Report Definition? Or system will timeout in such cases?
