ChromeFlashEnabled - IT department is asking what this means
Hello, We are working with our IT department to attempt to install the chrome extensions on several machines that failed to do so during the standard install process. They re attempting to do this using the following command fom the runtime install directory.
OpenSpan.WebExtensionInstaller.exe Chrome -i
They have concern about the mention of Flash in the property setting "Chrome flash enabled"
Below are the questions they are asking us to research.
Please let us know how to answer.
Thanks

- We need to address what the below setting actually means as Flash Player is no longer a supported function. Despite the setting having been set by the Web Extension installer, it does not appear to have had any impact on my ability to launch and use the browser.
- ChromeFlashEnabled = 1
- if this is enabling something that is disallowed in the environment, it could be problematic. (It’s my understanding that Chrome has completely removed the ability to use Flash Player in early 2021, so even if enabled, I would presume it is inert.)
- The Vendor should be confirming this for us, if at all possible.
- A quick google search for “ChromeFlashEnabled Pega” did not yield anything, so it seems like they may be the only ones that can give us an adequate answer.
- I did find this from Pega, however I am not sure of it’s implications in our specific situation.
