Getting record count from a data set

Hello,

 

We are trying to store the records in a Data Set of type Decision Data Store. As a part of this process the number of records in each run could be different. Now is there any OOTB method or API available in Pega to achieve the same.

Hi,

DDS service uses Cassandra under the hood. and Cassandra is not a RDMS db, and therefore count call is an estimate. I suppose hence there is no api available.  I found a community article that suggests to use the nodetool command to estimate keys.

Also found an excerpt on Datastax site https://www.datastax.com/blog/counting-keys-cassandra

```Cassandra doesn’t maintain such counts, unlike the indexing structures used in relational databases. It’s not that someone didn’t bother to implement it, such a count would violate many of Cassandra’s principles.```
