How to have conditioned based values returned in report defintion
we are invoking report definition to export some values, is there a way we can manipulate the returns values from report definition like if we are getting value "A" we need to return value "B".

We find a solution.
In the report definition, use the "Replace" function alias to replace value
Replace [Pending-ABC] by [Pending] in [.pyStatusWork]

I think one possible solution is to use "calculation builder" to convert value "A" into value "B"

- are you looking to make calculations here?
- are you looking to localize or replace contents using, say a field value?
- are you looking to totally replace values based on some other condition/scenario?

business wants to export the result of an Report Definition into an Excel.
But there is one small problem. For one column, the Report Definition returns value like "Pending-ABC", "Pending-XYZ". Business does not want to see these values in the exported Excel spreadsheet. Business wants to see a generic value, for example "Pending" in the exported Excel.
We use OOTB JavaScript function "pega.report.commandribbon.exportToExcel" to do the export. This function, which is defined in "pzPega_report_commandribbon.js", simply calls OOTB activity "Rule-Obj-Report-Definition.pzRDExportWrapper", which in turn uses html rule "pzRDExportWrapper", which in turn uses java code "com.pega.pegarules.priv.desktop.reporting.export.ReportExportHandler.doExport(pega.getPrimaryPage(), pega);" to do the export
We cannot find a place to update the report defintion result before exporting.
That is the problem we are facing
Basically, we want to find a way to convert "Pending-ABC" into "Pending" before exporting to excel
