Unable to Update deprecated Dynamic Select Control; Post Upgrade

We have upgraded our application from v6.2SP1 to v7.4. However, the Dynamic select controls on the sections are not upgraded. The button 'Update Controls' doesn't help either.

Does anybody know if this is a product bug or is there a specific reason as to why the control doesn't update?
