Is it possible to extract Pega BLOB data using different tools other than BIX?

Is it possible to extract Pega BLOB data using different tools like Informatica?

If yes then what are the advantages and disadvantages of using other tools than BIX?

will there be any data Loss or restriction on using Informatica or other tools for extracting BLOB data?
