[PegaAPI] Advancing case with no view defined

How do I advance a case which does not yet have a view defined, using PegaAPI?

I've tried performing an assignment action with actionID 'ActionStubDraftMode', which seemed to be the only available action available at that moment. The API returns 200, but the case doesn't progress. Cases with a view defined progress without problems. Any ideas?

 If there is an assignment then the case will stop there.

why not to use this approach :

 

I am not sure if this suits you but you can have a decision and then skip those steps.
