Directed Web Access - Email locking issue
Hi all,
I implemented Directed Web Access functionality to cater for the approval process. Now, I am ending up with locking issues.
Here is the issue for reference
- Users will get an email with a link to access external assignment
- User opened the External assignment to approve/reject the decision.
- User closed the assignment by clicking on x icon available on the browser
- Service Level agreement configured on the external assignment trying to acquire the lock ended up encountering with locking issue.
How do i cater these situations in the case life cycle ? Is there any design principle which i need to follow to avoid these circumstances ?

I did consider the Optimistic locking.But, this locking technique has issues while updating the Parent case in the context of Child Case. So, that is the reason i went this default locking mechanism.
I have second thoughts to revisit my escalation process. But, is there any other alternative which i can i look into it ?

A short-lived, simple case created on a PegaCloud instance can be an alternative way to capture input external to a primary application. The 7.3 Lead System Architect contains an example where a cloud-hosted case is created using a Pega API POST. The user of that case is sent an email with a link and instructions how to access the cloud-hosted case. The user logs in, fills out the screen, then submits. The submit issues a Pega API PUT that updates the primary application.
