What exactly is tested by hitting on 'Test Connectivity' button inside the Connect SOAP and Connect REST services in PRPC 7.1.9
Does the Test Connectivity button present for Connect SOAP and Connect REST is testing that the service endpoint URL is up and running? What does a Fail and Good status means?

Hi,
Basic validation will be done to ensure the URL is proper with right prefixes and a simple HTTP GET is issued on the endpoint URL to determine the connectivity.
If the endpoint URL is HTTPS enabled, SSL connection between source & destination is also validated.
You can also check the list of steps executed when we do test connectivity on SOAP or REST endpoint URL's.

So by Testing the connectivity we can ensure if the end point URL is good or not and whether it can connect to the server. Can you please let me know is there a way (PEGA utilities, features) to check if a particular service is up/down without using tools like SOAP UI.

Within Pega, you can continue to use "Test Connectivity" feature on SOAP/REST/EMAIL/FTP/FILE/JMS services rules to check if external service is up and running. Why do you need an another Pega utility?
