test connectivity for Connect-SOAP without running application in production

Hi,

We have a SOAP integration(Connect-SOAP) with external system for our application. How can we test connectivity in production without running the application? we have dummy data in production for validation but won't be able to launch the portal. Is there a way to run Connect-SOAP rule and pass input xml? Environment is PRPC 7.1.8.

Hello Arundhati,

If i understood it correctly  your service present in a production system and also dummy data available there .

You don’t want to invoke the production service through pega due to some reason .

In that case you can create the same service in one of your lower environment and first test the service through SOAP UI or any  other tool .

If the service is working fine now test the connect soap rule .

Then at last scenario you can follow the same changes in production  .

Thanks for your reply but that is not the case. our Pega application is the consumer of the external service and we have the endpoint url available with us.

testing of the integration connectivity in lower environment has been done successfully. We also need to test connectivity in production on release date.

Service is available in production and as part of our integration testing we need to test Pega-->External System service connectivity.

How can we test Connect-Soap rule? we have endpoint url of the service available. I didnt find a way to run Connect-SOAP rule in pega7(It was there in Pega6 though)

Hi Arundhati,

 

without appliction up, you can test endpoint URL alone through SOAPUI tool. If prpc application up, go to connect soap rule -> click Test connectivity buttion. 

If you want to test xml response also, then need to create one sample activity there you can call connect soap through step and do necessary mapping.

If you the connect-soap rule is created already, then there should be an activity written to call the service.

You can run activity via url.
