Java upgradation testing
we are using pega 6.2 for our application.Recently we have upgraded the java 1.6.0_31 to java 1.7.0_101.Can anybody suggest how to test the new java version(1.7.0_101) i.e whether it is compatible with peag 6.2 or not .please suggest the testing approach to make sure that we will have smooth and easy developement with new upgraded java version.

Even though it supports Java 7 be careful with the following.
In Java 7, Oracle changed the “modified mergesort” in java.util.Arrays.sort with timsort: http://bugs.java.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=6804124 A full description of this change can be found here: http://dertompson.com/2012/11/23/sort-algorithm-changes-injava-7/
In Version 6.x PRPC systems, this now causes Obj-Sort to fail with a Java error: “Caused by: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Comparison method violates its general contract!” To avoid this error, set the following Java System property when using Java 7 with PRPC 6.x: - Djava.util.Arrays.useLegacyMergeSort=true

Hi Santanu,
Thanks .we tested "obj-sort" method and its working fine.we are also successful in creating new rules of each type with no error.
Apart from these what should be the testing approach ,will you please suggest
