Bulk data count values storage approach in data pages

Hi,

     I want to get count for 500K rows and display in a screen, which one is the best way to handle.

Option 1: In background get all the data in data pages, and display in the screen

Option 2: In DB create separate table for count and update count table periodically. Display the values from count table

Hi

Even if you pull the data in background and store them all in a datapage, it might create some performance overhead.So be careful before pulling the entire lot of data. 

Try using Report Definition to pull the data and then use pagination to get the data on a phased manner. 

And for the total count, you can refer pxTotalResultCount.
