What is the significance of removeScreenLayoutMask funtion?
removeScreenLayoutMask function is used in the default portal casemanager7 provided in pega 7.1.7.
What is the significance of this function and is it necessary to use this function for designing new portal.
What if I don't use it ? what will happen ?

What at what circumstance should we use this function ?

As far as I remember, this function is used mostly in menu items and functionality wise, I think it simulates a click on portal so that it hides navigation pane.

Hi Santanu, I was not able to understand the above statement, as in what gets hidden, In my case I m not using removeScreenLayoutMask, if some problem occurs in displaying things I will start using removeScreenLayoutMask.

Hi Santanu, Even i had the same query. In my application if i am closing some harness in the portal, then it will blank. Instead, using this function the default one.. suppose 'MyWork' will be displayed.

The functinality of the function 'removeScreenLayoutMask' is to lunch a new screen without closing the existing one. then you can easily swap to both screens . if you are not using this function the new screen will opend in content part of the portal and existing one will be closed.
Correct me if it is wrong.

Can anyone tell what does this function? We're building a custom portal and we can see that it's used by the OOTB portals, but couldn't find any documentation about why is used nor about what does it do.
