Clone work item in a new tab
I have a requirement to copy/cone existing request details with a new request. on click of button, i am calling Work-.CopyWork and refreshing the harness. New request is getting create with new Request #. However it is replacing the old request tab. Is there way to keep the old request as is and open the new request in separate tab?

Hi,
OOTB CopyWork activity will not suffice this use case. Find the high level steps below and let us know in case any other information is needed.
- Create custom activity
- Call pxCreateTopCase API activity to create a Top Case of same class (Assuming you only want to copy top Request and not children)
- Pass Data Transform name to call during creation (there is a parameter for same in pxCreateTopCase activity)
- There is a java step in CopyWork activity that actually does the copy of all properties
- Create a function with the same java code (replace Primary page with pyWorkPage or Pass page name dynamically in Data transform and function)
- Call this function from this data transform
- Pass Data Transform name to call during creation (there is a parameter for same in pxCreateTopCase activity)
- Call pxCreateTopCase API activity to create a Top Case of same class (Assuming you only want to copy top Request and not children)
- Above step will create a Request with same data
- pxCreateTopCase also provides you an option to store the newly created case id in some property (e.x. CloneInsHandle)
- Configure button to call above activity and then Open Work By Handle with that property (CloneInsHandle)

I am trying to implement a similar solution to the one you described.
For my test on 7.2.1, the activity pxCreateTopCase does not set the newly created case id.
Do you have any idea why ?
In which version does it worked for you ?

Issue resolved as I was passing the caseInsHandel value and not the name.
Think to pass the name of your property with double cotes to pxCreateTopCase:
