Write outbound output to dataset instead of DB templates
Is there a simple way to write the campaign output to a Dataset instead of a DB template?
If not I suggest this is added as an enhancement,
This approach adds more flexibility. No need to update DB templates.
Major benefits includes being to use all of the OOTB dataset types such as file / stream / Hbase etc. Simplifying integration.
In fact database template option can be removed with this approach

Thank you for sharing your enhancement suggestion.
As you said only Database Template is currently supported for this option. Using the advanced configuration options of the Database Template you could trigger a process to migrate data from the table to another dataset if needed.
If possible, could you share some more specifics of the use case that prompted you to suggest this enhancement?

Thanks for the response. The clients requirement is to write files in JSON format. Currently supported OOTB with the file dataset.
An alternative solution would be to extend OOTB dataflows such as the extension point (DF_OfferResultsExtension) with a dummy database configuration. However this is a workaround and other point of failure.
The aim is to minimise customisation and the unnecessary copying of data.
