What is the work around for the Tab Group with Dynamic Container in PRPC v8.1
What is the work around for the Tab Group with Dynamic Container with tabs as it is removed completely in v8.1 and added as legacy Structure list in v7.4.
I have a requirement to show work objects as a Tabs and there will be some default Tabs already exists such as Home etc.
How can I achieve this in v8.1 ?

Solution for this is we need to save as the OOTB sections pzShowCaseHierarchyTabs (or) pzStudioContainerTabs to our application ruleset and customize it based on our requirement as these contain Tab Group Layout in PRPC v8.1.
Please note that the Tab Group Layout is removed in Layout palette of the section in PRPC v8.1 but OOTB PegaRULES v8 application is still using the Tab Group Layout.
Not sure why they are still using it if it is not recommended.

I think the "simplest" way is to find or import an older rule that still uses this approach and copy/build from there. I have not found a way to build a new one from scratch as it appears those legacy tab options have been removed from the available palette options.

Live UI on designer studio tabs, copy paste the tab based dynamic container and make the changes. In future releases we have plans to replace this with better performing optimized tab structure.

Hi Shree,
I have one question on the TabGroupLayout that ,as this is the deprecated one in Pega8.1. While using this Layout we can see warning and our compliance score becomes high due to that.Which will somehow affect out application deployment to the higher environment.
Can you suggest any better solution for this?

Hello!
Since this an old post without any recent activity, it will be great if you could create a new post to seek answers to your query.
You can reference this post in the new one which might help to set the context.

I haven't tried this on 8.1 either yet, but can a Dynamic Container be placed inside the newer (tabbed) layout group, either directly or inside another Dynamic layout?

Yes, a Dynamic container can be placed inside a dynamic layout. In such case, the default view can only be section.

Hi Marc,
Tried this Layout Group(Tab) with Dynamic layout with Dynamic Container but not working
Configuration:
- Layout Group(Tab) -
- 1st Tab - Dynamic layout with Embedded Section
- 2nd Tab - Dynamic layout with Dynamic Container (Tried with single document and multiple documents)
What is happening is, if we open any work object from 1st Tab the work object is opening in the second tab if you open another work object it is replacing on the second tab even it is multi document mode.
Another disadvantage is that we need to put a section in the Dynamic Container in 2nd Tab. So over all this is not working.
Please let me any other work around. thanks.

Hi All,
I found the components in Layout palette by Searching with Layout in PRPC v7.4 but in PRPCv7.2 all these are formed by the CSS and JS files.
One Important point about the Tab Group in PRPC v7.4 is that the Defer load activity for the Default tab is calling twice if we launch/Load the portal. Pega Team provided an Local fix for this.

According to this post, there is a product enhancement request to make the tabs with dynamic container available again. Are there any news on this?
Just googling this topic reveals that many Pega clients (like us) need a proper solution (and not a workaround with deprecated rules) that works for us. The users of our application are used to opening several work items at the same time as tabs in the main content area of the UI and we want to keep it that way when we upgrade from 7.2.2 to 8.x.

Hi,
We also have the same requirement. We want to have dynamic tabs that display all open cases. It should also be possible to close those tabs. I was not able to implement this using the new "Layout Group (Tab)". Instead I am using the deprecated "Tab Group" (like used in Pega 8 DEV studio: pzStudioContainerTabs). How can we implement dynamic tabs in Pega 8 that can be closed? I can't find any example for this.
Thanks and best regards

Is there any way to change the Tab Heading colors While using the deprecated "Tab Group"?
I could see in OOTB section (pzStudioContainerTabs) they have used Style format as “Temporary top tabs”. Is there any way to customize this style?

OOTB sections pzShowCaseHierarchyTabs (or) pzStudioContainerTabs are removed in Pega 8.4 version. Any idea how to achieve in 8.4.
Thanks in Advance.

Hi,
I understand that you have used a work around by saving as the OOTB rules and customized it as per your requirement. However, did you try using an AJAX container instead of a Dynamic container? I tried in my system and it works. Also, one doesn't have to configure a Group Layout as AJAX container allows you to configure the display as tabs.
