What is the best way to match a web page link?

I have a link that I need to match in web app - I can match it as a or a . Which will be faster with or without In-Process matching? What is the best strategy for interrogating these? 

My main page in our web app is not matching fast enough to catch user clicks so I am trying to optimize it to match as quickly as possible.
