Validation for a field coming from a report definition
Hi,
We want to display an error message for a property coming from a report definition (we are calling a report definition in a section).
Currently an exclamatory icon is showing, when you keep cursor it will display an message.
We want to show a message whenever an invalid input is given. Can you please help out for this change.

So, you must be having this inside a harness, most probably that would be a "Perform Harness". It seems like you want to show a message and not just an exclamatory icon
Do a LIVE UI and open the harness and go to Display Options and select Field Level Erorrs as "Show Full Error Text".

Hi Rachit,
Thanks for your comment. But we want to customise the message as "Please enter the numerical value". Our current property type is "decimal".
Can you please do needful?

In that case, you can use customized Edit Validate Rule or Validate rule. There you can show a customized error message.

Hi,Could you also make sure your rules are all residing in the same ruleset or on same branch which has the custom edit validate rule..
