Using SQL Server Windows Authentication for Installation 8.5

I've seen a couple of discussions and questions but no actual solution/resolution.

 

With a Tomcat/SQL Server/Windows installation, can you use windows authentication rather than a database user when installing Pega?  If so, is it documented anywhere?

The customer fears the exposed username and password in the config.xml file and is looking for ways to mitigate this.  One way would be to use the windows authentication.  Another way might be to encrypt the file or use an encrypted password somehow.  

If you have any thoughts, I'm open to suggestions.
