Using "old" version of application to process "old" cases
Hi all,
Recently one of the sales representatives of Pega Russia told one of the Customers that in Pega platform 7.1.9+ a new option for applying application updates was introduced.
According to him/her when a product archive containing changes to a certain flow of a certain case type is being installed to an environment with existing cases of that case type, then it is possible to select for each existing case how should it be processed: using "old" version of a flow or using "new" version of a flow.
I haven't heard about this feature of Pega platform anywhere else.
Does anybody have heard anything about this feature? Where can I find additional information about this feature?

I haven't heard of that.
What I have heard, though, which may be of use to you, is that if you only add shapes to a flow and don't delete any old shapes, then the old shapes will still be usable by old work objects. Therefore you can do development on your flows while still allowing old assignments to work properly. /Eric

Hi Eric,
Thank you for your reply. What you say is perfectly correct, and is true at least since Pega PRPC 6.1 (the version I've started my Pega-journey with). What I am looking for is any information about a mythical new feature of Pega 7.1.9+ described above. So, it seems that that feature doesn't really exist and sales representative meant something else.
