Updating case details from Pega Robot
Hi ,
Is there a way that we can update an existing case (few fields) in Pega from Pega robot ? I am looking for the trigger to be from Pega Robot for updating a field in Pega Case.
We can see that in toolbox under Pega Robot Interaction Management "Case" component which has AddCase method, I believe it is used to create a new case and not update and existing case.
Please let me know what are the options that we can look for.

@VarunK03If you want Runtime to trigger an update to an existing case, you can do so in a couple ways.
- If during your case processing, you have a step that needs to be completed by a robot, you can add that to your case and your robot would receive that event via the Robot Activity and would have access to that case through that activity. It could update any of the exposed fields and then complete the activity.
- If you need to have your robot update a case that already exists and is not currently in-process (so it cannot trigger the robot), then you may use the Robot Manager REST Component to communicate with your Pega application's REST APIs. You would expose your Pega application's APIs and then they can be called externally (such as from Runtime).

We have 1st option already setup, if the Robot takes longer time to update/execute the automated process on the target system, the response sent by the robot back to Pega case will not be received as Pega Case stops waiting for the robots response say after like 1 min.
I was looking a way to update the case details later on by the robot. I will try exploring option 2.

The time the robot has to complete the assignment is configurable and can be tuned to meet your specific needs. Which type of the available integrations are you using?
Additionally to the above, if you have only exceptions where the robot cannot process the assignment within the defined time, you could also extend the robotic assignment behaviour to manage these exceptions and automatically re-queue these, notify you, or many other possible options.
