Hi there, I am new to pega, I have a robotics systems exam that I am sitting soon but it needs me to download the robotics studio, I have read the installation instructions from previous years but they are no longer valid as the UX has changed so much and functionality has been removed or changed.
This makes it hard for me to revise for the exam because the content is till referring to the old UX.
I have downloaded the personal studio but it does not fit the exam content.
Please help me as I am running out of time to revise and sit the exam.
I have downloaded visual studio but I do not know how I integrate it with pega because I cannot find the runtime file to run.
It is true that in production you will deploy your RPA solutions to bot machines using Pega Robotics Runtime, however Pega Robotics Runtime is a licensed software available to licensed customers. The key features of Pega Robotics Runtime are included in Pega Robotics Studio or in the Plug-In for Visual Studio 2015 (since you need to test your solutions from Studio), and for this reason, a separate download and install of Pega Robotics Runtime is not required for the exam.
In parallel with Pega Robotics 19.1, we have released a preview version of Pega Robotics V22.1, which is a new and redesigned version. This is not yet generally available, however it is coming very soon. Training to use this version is available to experienced RPA developers so that they can learn about the UI differences and prepare their solutions to the be upgraded. Please note that as part of the Pega software continuity policy, Pega will be supporting both v22.1 and 19.1 when v22.1 is GA. There is not currently a certification exam available on v22.1. If you need to take the Pega Robotics certification exam soon, then you please work with the course and version linked above. This certification will be valid for a long time since 19.1 will continue to be fully supported for the foreseeable future. Otherwise, you can wait for the v22.1 GA announcement and the new exam (but you should expect that this will be at least a couple of months out before exam is synched up with the GA release). The process will be the same; you will need to take the free Robotics Essentials on v22.1 and will have a Robot Studio v22.1 available for exercises. If you want to future-proof your knowledge (with understanding that it is not yet on the exam), you can do the preview training and use the v21 (the version to be released has been renamed since the preview was created, thus it is named v21) preview for exercises: https://academy.pega.com/mission/pega-robot-studio-preview/v2
Please note that the Robotics System Architect certification is based on functionality of Pega Robotics Studio. However, Pega RPA is an enterprise grade scalable automation tool. Together with Pega platform and the Pega Robot Manager application, it can deliver extended capabilities for large deployments or complex work alongside human users. The Personal edition of Pega (if this is what you reference in your post) is the platform-side software complimentary to Pega Robotics Studio and Runtime. You can (and should) use it to get the most of Pega Robotics to become familiar with Pega Robotics. Pega platform case management skills are certified separately through the Pega System Architect badge. You can also take the Pega Robot Manager training that shows the application to manage bots that is built on Pega platform. The full view of end-to-end comprehensive Pega Robotics architecture with Robot Manager is on this diagram: https://community.pega.com/knowledgebase/documents/robotics-infrastructure-diagram Note the different components and understand that there are separate training materials for each.
