Unable to ping Gmail.com from VM

Hi ,

I am facing issue while configuring an email account with my gmail account details on PVS hosted on VMware player. Getting following error on test connectivity. I tried same gmail details on my Personal edition , I am not facing any issues and test connectivity works fine.

"MessagingException caught connecting to email server: com.sun.mail.util.MailConnectException: Couldn't connect to host, port: smtp.gmail.com, 587; timeout 60000; nested exception is: java.net.UnknownHostException: smtp.gmail.com"

I have network connectivity but ping to gmail.com is timing out within Vm. Is there any setting to be corrected on PVS/VM fix connectivity issue to gmail.com?

Note. I have correct hosts files to resolve vapp unknown error already.

I am also facing the same issue. It seems VM can't access the local system internet which may causing the issue. Any help would be much appreciated.
