Is there a default size limit for Email attachments that are to be processed by an Email listener
There is a maximum Email size setting in the process tab of Email listeners, I want to know if there is any default size limit in Pega for this, i was able to send 13 MB file as attachment, but when i sent a 24 MB file it didn't get processed, the request count for the listener in the SMA shows it(mail) got checked by the listener but never got processed, traced showed nothing and nothing in the logs too.

I'm not sure what the max size is ... but I do know if you have large sizes, you want to set the fetch size so that processing is more efficient. See this article.
It may be that this will result in your 24 MB succeeding.

Listener was able to process the 24 MB size file after setting the fetchsize in DSS to 1024000 as mentioned in the link you gave.
