Starting Pega Runtime from Pega Case manager portal
Hi,
Is it possible to start the Pega Runtime client from Pega application?
I've managed to start/login applications through robotic automation from a link (Start My Day) in Pega Case manager portal but this requires Pega Runtime to be started manually prior to click link in Case manager.
I'm looking forward to allow user to click link in case manager portal to start Runtime(if not running) on their PC, is this feasible?

Hi Ashok , applications can be triggered from pega case manager by Pega RDA ,
but , robotics runtime should be running
runtime start can be automated ---
- if RDA - then with windows task scheduler
- if RPA - then by RPA service On-Demand mode
- in RPA - scheduling from Robot manager
else , you can brief about detailed requirement , which can be discussed further

For RDA , runtime launch -
- windows task scheduler (put runtime as exe , openspan package as argument...)
- else , keep Runtime as windows startup application , and set the package in RuntimeConfig ( if not using Package server )

I am aware of different approaches like Windows Scheduling (RDA),and Robot manager scheduling (RPA); however my expectation is to start the runtime on demand for RDA robot. Because,I don't want to start the runtime when the user starts their day as they will be working on something different. Hence, my thought was to start the runtime when they actually start the case.
