SRS setup clarification needed
Hi,
Does SRS require a separate, externally installed Elasticsearch/OpenSearch cluster in Pega 23.1 or 24.1? Please clarify.
And I am going through below article:
It is mentioned 2 components:
i. Search and Reporting Service (SRS)
ii. Elasticsearch/OpenSearch service
Do we to complete both the steps in order to achieve the Elastic search functionality? Or just 1st one? We are planning to deploy it in On-Prem VM based.
And can you please send me the implementation guide based on my above requirement? Appreciate your help.

An external Elasticsearch/OpenSearch cluster provides storage for SRS. Pega does not license Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, so you need to deploy the service in your organization’s infrastructure and connect it to SRS You need to perform only one, not both.
Procedure to configure external SRS service:
VM deployment:
Once you have an elastic service available within your organisation, add these two parameters
1 provide url for your external elastic service
2 set a parameter to identify your individual deployment based on the environment that you are using
