SmartTip on Icon displays in wrong position

I have a SmartTip displaying on Hover action of an icon. It appears that the smarttip is displayed about 40px right of where it should. After much debugging, I realize the beginning left edge of the smarttip is in the "correct" location (aligned with the left edge of the icon).
Shouldn't it be the arrow on the SmartTip that is aligned with the middle of the event element? When used with icons, the placement of the arrow off by even a bit can be confusing (as shown in my screenshot)
Is there an HFix around this? I saw one for 7.18.

Perform the following local-change: Put this style block in to UserWorkForm HTML fragment...<style>.smarttip-container .arrow.top, .smartInfoContainer .arrow.top {left: 5px !important;}</style>
'Note that with this solution, you may to need to adjust '5px' value to something lower depending on your scenario.
