Need to display red icon

we have a UI  when the user enters all questions and he left one question with answering it and he navigates to another step then in the previous step it needs to display an exclamation mark symbol for the first time. But it not happening for the first time. Again when the user navigates for the second time to the questionary step it is coming. Need some help on this.
