Search and display the work objects based on * (start) symbol.

For example i'm having work object ID as SN123, and in a search field i'm enter this value and click on search button it displays that particular record.

Now the requirment is we if enter the workobjet id in the search field as *12* and click on search button,it should display the records matching with 12.The data is fetched using report definition.

Can anyone help me on this.
