Is saving Work Object required in Queue Processor Activity?

Hi,

I am using.8.5.3 . In Queue Processor Activity I updated two properties using Property-Set Method and set the audit history message. I expected queue Processor takes care of Saving the case data but unfortunately data has not committed. I explicitly called Call Save to save the work object. Is there any configuration change we need to do to take care of Save by Queue Processor?
